Jaylen Brown has been reunited with the personalized ring he misplaced during the Boston Celtics championship parade. And, as promised, he generously rewarded the two lucky admirers who discovered the ring.
Celtics fans Luke and Adi discovered the ring at the parade and were able to contact the 2024 NBA Finals MVP after reading a news report about the missing ring.
Celtics supporters receive a hefty reward.Jaylen Brown and the fans who found the ring met on Causeway Street outside TD Garden in Boston, where the 2024 NBA Finals MVP quickly exited a van dressed incognito in a hoodie and sunglasses and presented them with their reward: a signed basketball, a signed jersey, and courtside tickets to the Celtics’ ring ceremony during their home opener.
Adi and Luke, the admirers who discovered the ring, responded gratefully to Brown after receiving their prizes.
“We really just wanted you to have it back, you should re-invest these in the community,” the two of them said.
“One act of kindness is what we need, so we appreciate it,” Brown said.
The ring bears Brown’s personal brand emblem, “7uice,” in Celtic green and white, encircled by diamonds.
It’s evident how important this ring is to Brown, who immediately turned to social media after the championship parade to request Boston’s assistance in returning the ring to him.
“Big reward for whoever finds this ring lost it at the parade if you find it lmk please,” Brown wrote on Instagram.
When Jaylen Brown lost the ring during the parade, he was seen celebrating with his Finals MVP award and wearing a shirt that read “state your source” in reference to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith. Smith previously stated that a source informed him that, “It’s not so much [Brown is] underrated, it’s that he’s just not liked because of his ‘I’m better than you mentality,’ which is the reason he’s not as marketable as he should be.”
Brown had an MVP-worthy effort while leading the Celtics to the championship, averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.6 steals while playing stifling defense against the Dallas Mavericks’ star pair of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
Brown was also the Eastern Conference Finals MVP, averaging 29.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals as the Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers and advanced to the NBA Finals.
The next time Brown encounters these lucky fans, his iconic “7uice” ring will not be the only piece of jewelry on his finger. He and the rest of the Celtics will get their championship rings from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver as they lift banner No. 18.
