Federico Valverde crowned a great attack and scored the fourth goal of the night in East Rutherford where the Celeste demolished Bolivia in a great way. Seventh goal in his 53rd match with the National Team that is a potential candidate in the tournament.

Uruguay had an easy 5-0 win over Bolivia. In the 8th minute, Pellistri opened the score 1-0 for Uruguay with a low header from about 2m away. After this goal, everything became easy for Uruguay as they completely dominated and Darwin Nunez quickly increased the score to 2-0 in the 21st minute.

 

 

Bolivia then tried to fight back but they were too weak and could not keep the ball against Uruguay’s strong pressure. In the second half, Uruguay scored 3 more goals thanks to Araujo in the 77th minute, Valverde in the 81st minute and Bentancur in the 89th minute to win 5-0.

With this result, Uruguay temporarily leads Group C with 6 points, goal difference +7 and they are almost certain to secure a ticket to the quarterfinals. Because in the final match against the US team, Uruguay only needs to not lose by a difference of 3 goals or more to be sure of winning the ticket.
