🚨 OFFICIAL: Nacho Fernández is LEAVING Real Madrid! 👋

Real Madrid, one of the most prestigious football clubs in the world, is facing an unprecedented situation in its history. In just four seasons, Los Blancos have seen four captains leave. The latest on the list is Nacho Fernandez, who has just confirmed his move to the Saudi Arabian league from next season.

Nacho Fernandez – a product of the Real Madrid youth system, has spent his entire career at the Santiago Bernabeu. He has made 364 appearances for the first team since making his debut in 2011. The 2023/2024 season is considered the highlight of Nacho’s career, as he has become an important pillar in Real Madrid’s defense due to long-term injuries to Eder Militao and David Alaba.

With 45 appearances in all competitions, Nacho played an important role in Real Madrid winning the La Liga and Champions League double.

According to Javier Herráez on the ‘Carrusel Deportivo’ program, Nacho has signed a contract with Al Qadsiah – a newly promoted club in the Saudi Arabian Premier League. The team is currently led by Michel, a former Real Madrid player. The contract is expected to last two years with a salary of up to 10 million euros per season.

Nacho’s decision to leave is said to have been carefully considered. Although Real Madrid offered him a contract extension with similar terms, Nacho decided to seek a new challenge.

Nacho’s departure marks a sad milestone for Real Madrid. In the past four seasons, the team has said goodbye to captains Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Karim Benzema, and now Nacho Fernandez.

Real Madrid are looking at a number of options to compensate for Nacho’s departure. They hope Eder Militao and David Alaba will return from injury soon. The club are also eyeing a move for young centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille. Another option is to use defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as a centre-back, after his impressive performances in the position last season.

Nacho’s departure is not only a professional loss but also the end of an era at Real Madrid. He was one of the last players of the golden generation that brought many titles to the club in the past decade. With 26 titles in his career, including 5 Champions Leagues, Nacho leaves a memorable legacy at the Santiago Bernabeu.
