The ceremonial first pitch of the game was thrown by basketball stars Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, and Al Horford.
This month, the Boston Celtics won their 18th NBA championship after defeating the Dallas Mavericks with ease in the championship game. With a 64-18 regular season record and a 16-3 postseason record, they were unbeatable in the NBA the whole season. With this victory, they surpassed all previous champions in league history.
After sweeping the Blue Jays in Toronto last week, Boston welcomed them back for a three-game series at home tonight. The home team has improved their season record to 42-36 after a strong few weeks.

Justin Turner’s RBI single put Toronto ahead early, but Rafael Devers, the third baseman for Boston, answered with a home run in the fourth. The Blue Jays and their opponents are knotted 6-6 as the ninth inning approaches. Isiah Kiner-Flaefa scored two runs for Toronto, while Kevin Kiermaier, Addison Barger, Spencer Horwitz, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. each scored one.
A comparable amount was scored by Boston as well, with two runs each from Jarren Duran and Devers and one run each from slugger Tyler O’Neill and David Hamilton.
