Al Horford declared that he will play for the Boston Celtics again the next year.
After the Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks in five games in the NBA Finals, the seasoned center for the Boston Celtics won his first championship as a player.
Horford revealed that after taking a brief vacation, he will begin preparing for the upcoming season.
“To tell the truth, I’m returning. That’s the strategy, Horford informed the press.
“We have already discussed the details of our offseason. I’m going to take a short break from training for the time being, but in a few weeks I’ll get back up and build it back up. I’ll be prepared to leave.
Horford is going to start his 18th NBA season. However, he is unsure of how long his career will endure beyond the upcoming season.
“I want to continue because I feel wonderful. I am aware that I need to exercise caution both in the lead-up to and during the season.”
With Kristaps Porzingis sidelined for the bulk of the Celtics’ postseason run, Horford was an essential player.
In the 2024 playoffs, he averaged 9.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
