Man Utd reactivated transfer target worth £50 millions, all-in to bring in Eriksen’s replacement

Xavi Simons, 21 years old, just started in the Dutch team’s 2-1 win over Poland in the first match of Group D of Euro 2024 last night, June 16. After Euro 2024, Xavi Simons will return to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after he spent the past season on loan at Germany’s RB Leipzig.

Now, L’Equipe (France) newspaper confirms that MU has contacted PSG about a potential transfer agreement for Xavi Simons. However, MU faces a big bаttle to win Xavi Simons’ signature from other clubs. MU’s two opponents in the Premier League, Arsenal, Man City, and Bayern Munich also want this star. These three big clubs have contacted French champion PSG to buy Xavi Simons.

In 2022, Xavi Simons was sold by PSG to PSV. After Xavi Simons’ excellent season with PSV in his home country of the Netherlands, PSG activated the £5 million buyback clause of Xavi Simons in his contract. But Xavi Simons did not stay at the Parc des Princes team when many teams tried to sign him.

MU is one of the teams interested in Xavi Simons. German newspaper Bild reported that MU agreed to pay PSG a fee of 50 million pounds to own Xavi Simons last summer. However, Simons refused this deal. Instead, he left PSG for RB Leipzig on a season-long loan. The young Dutchman scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists for the Bundesliga side.

With Xavi Simons playing impressively, PSG just wants to push Xavi Simons out on loan in his second season so he can gain more experience instead of selling him outright. Meanwhile, Manchester United wants to strengthen the right wing area as they plan to sell both English stars Mason Greewood and Jadon Sancho this summer.

Crystal Palace striker Michael Olise is also MU’s target, but Chelsea is the leading team in recruiting this 22-year-old player worth 60 million pounds. Meanwhile, Xavi Simons started learning football at Barcelona when he was 7 years old.

The Catalan team considers Xavi Simons their greatest promising talent since Lionel Messi. While playing for the Barcelona U-14 team, Xavi Simons was the team captain. At that time, Barcelona U-14 won all 25 matches, scored 164 goals and conceded only 14 times.

Golden Curls is the affectionate nickname of Xavi Simons. He believes he has no future in Barcelona’s first team. Following the advice of his agent at the time, Mino Raiola, Xavi Simons did not sign a contract with Barcelona and left at the age of 16. An attractive offer from PSG was said to be worth £1 million per five was enough to bring Xavi Simons to Paris.

By the time Xavi Simons was 16 years old, before he was even a professional player, Xavi Simons boasted 2 million followers on Instagram. Nike also offered him a lucrative advertising contract. But Xavi Simons only played for PSG 11 matches in 3 years before PSV brought him back to his home country of the Netherlands until now.
