The world’s most popular football clubs on social media were revealed.

The 467th CIES Football Observatory Weekly Post lists the top 20 global clubs by social media followers.

In the age of immediate information, supporting your football club goes beyond buying a ticket and going to a game.

Many supporters follow their clubs only online, yet match-goers are still the basis of team support.

This lets fans throughout the world follow their favorite team.

Large clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona naturally rank high.After signing Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, some clubs’ social media presence has increased.

Below, we see how the top 20 look this year and how their followers have grown since 2023.

As expected, Champions League winners Real Madrid lead with 410.9 million Facebook, TikTоk, Instagram, and X followers.

Since last year, the Spanish giants have gained 48.4m followers on social media, more than any other team.With 360.7m followers, Barcelona is second, with 18.4m new followers since 2023.

Barcelona is second on every social media except TikTоk, while Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham are second and third.Manchester United, England’s first club, has 216.3m social media followers, 10.2m more than last year.

They are the last club with 200m+ followers.

Fourth place PSG, along with Monaco, are one of two teams to lose top 100 fans after Messi and Mbappe left.

PSG have 184.1m followers for their pages after losing 2.7m.

Manchester City, who surpassed Juventus into sixth, has 158.4m followers after 27.5m growth.

With 144.5m followers to 141.7m, Liverpool leads Chelsea on all platforms except Facebook..

The last club to reach 100+ followers is Arsenal, with 102.4m followers, followed by Bayern Munich with 137.1m.

If they build on their 12.8m rise this year to 96.4m followers, Tottenham might join that club next year.

AC and Inter Milan rank 12th and 13th with 68.8m and 61.8m, ahead of Atletico Madrid with 60.4m.

If we merely consider the club, Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr is surprising.

Since Ronaldo joined the team, its social media followers have explоded to 54.3m, with 42.7m from Instagram and TikTоk.

Galatasaray, the Turkish Suρer Lig champions, rank 19th with 45.1m followers, while Jose Mourinho’s Roma rank 20th with 36.4m.

Roma entered the top 20 after outgrowing Corinthians (7.1m to 3.2m).Celtic’s 4.8m followers secure their top 100 spot.

Other English clubs in the top 100 include Leicester (22.7m), West Ham (17.5), Aston Villa (16m), Newcastle (13.4m), Everton (13.2m), Wolves (10.6m), Brighton (8.3m), Southampton (7.4m), Crystal Palace (6.3m), Leeds (5.4m), and Watford (5.2m)..
