Bruno Fernandes Aims to Become One of Man United’s Top Earners, Plans to Leverage Three Teammates in Contract Negotiations Amid Bayern Munich Interest

According to reports, Bruno Fernandes is negotiating for a deal that would include three of his teammates among the top three earners at Manchester United.

The Red Devils had a terrible season under Erik ten Hag, but the Portuguese midfielder was one of the few bright spots.

Bruno Fernandes' deal ends in two years but his Manchester United future remains in doubt

The 29-year-old led United to an FA Cup victory at the end of the season after defeating Manchester City in the championship game. He scored 14 goals in all competitions.

With a year left on his Old Trafford deal and the possibility of one more, Fernandes has been linked to a move to Bayern Munich in recent weeks.

His current salary, which he signed a new four-year contract for in 2022, is approximately £240,000 per week.

But according to the Guardian, Fernandes feels underappreciated and wants to be paid similarly to the team’s highest earners, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Casemiro.

After agreeing to a new, lucrative contract last summer, Rashford makes about £360,000 per week, while Sancho makes about £300,000. Casemiro, meanwhile, makes over £350,000 a week and has been connected to a relocation to Saudi Arabia.

According to the report, Sir Jim Ratcliffe does not consider Fernandes to be United’s finest player, and the team is not actively trying to sell him.

Fernandes, who is 29 years old, is conscious that his next deal ought to be lucrative. The playmaker reportedly wants to know who would take Ten Hag’s place should the Dutchman be fired since he is unclear about the direction the team is going.

In an article published in The Players’ Tribune last month, the United captain emphasized his desire to stay with the team.

Fernandes continued by saying that he must have goals that align.

“I love more than anything to step out at Old Trafford,” he added. I’m not ready to go. My dream come true has always been this one.

Ex-Man United coach Phelan gives insight into Ronaldo’s fallout and thinks he had a point

All I want is for my expectations to align with the club’s expectations. Every fan you speak with will tell you the same thing. Our objective is to contend for the league. We want to be playing football in the Champions League. We hope to play in the cup finals. That’s the norm. That’s what I’m after. That’s what you all ought to have. All I want to do is keep fighting. I’d like to be present. My relatives would like to attend.

Fernandes has made 233 appearances since joining United in January 2020. In that time, he has 66 assists and 79 goals.

Fernandes’ loss would be devastating for United, particularly considering their rebuilding plans.
