Man United Fan’s Game Boy, Signed by Sir Alex Ferguson, Valued at £30,000
Ali Ahmed’s parents purchased a Manchester United-themed Game Boy for him in 1996, when he was just three years old. Recognizing its potential as a future collector’s item, they kept it in mint condition. Recently, Ali embarked on a mission to get the legendary United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, to sign the packaging.
His opportunity arose unexpectedly when Sir Alex visited the pharmacy where Ali works in January. Overwhelmed with excitement, Ali seized the moment and approached Sir Alex, who graciously agreed to sign the Game Boy and even posed for a selfie.
Reflecting on the encounter, Ali expressed his disbelief, describing it as a dream come true. Despite receiving a lucrative offer of £30,000 from Japan for the Nintendo console, which originally cost £60, Ali has decided to hold onto it, considering it the “Holy Grail” of his game collection.
Ali’s achievement garnered widespread support from fellow United fans when he shared his story on a Game Boy collector’s page. With a collection of around 1,000 games valued at £40,000, Ali’s dedication to preserving his cherished memorabilia is evident.
