Manchester United’s hierarchy liked Joe Hugill and kept him.
Manchester United signed Joe Hugill to a new deal. The Old Trafford squad announced that the striker has signed a contract until 2026 with an option for another year.
Hugill has advanced well this season, training with the first team and appearing on the replacements’ bench four times, notably in the FA Cup third round triumph against Wigan Athletic.
After joining from Sunderland in the summer of 2020, the 20-year-old scored often for the U18 and U21 squads.
Hugill won the FA Youth Cup with Man Utd’s U18 team in 2022. The youthful talent substituted in the Old Trafford final versus Nottingham Forest.
He scored a spectacular goal in the pre-season triumph against Leeds United in Oslo after learning on loan at Altrincham previous season.
Hugill scored 7 Premier League 2 goals this season. Hugill may make his Man Utd debut shortly due to a striker shortage.
