In the sport of football, injuries are unavoidable, and it is extremely uncommon for a player to make it through an entire season without missing at least a few games due to fitness issues. However, the 2023–24 season was a particularly challenging one for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who serves as the creative fulcrum of Liverpool.

After suffering a hamstring injury in September, Alexander-Arnold was unable to play for three months and 16 more games in the second half of the season due to a ruptured knee ligament. This was in addition to the fact that he was temporarily sidelined. It was by far the season in which the 25-year-old player experienced the most number of injuries.

He thought back on his struggles and mused, “It was a difficult time.” “It was a time that was challenging for me, and it was also a time that taught me to be patient. Injury is never a pleasant experience for any player, but it does make you stronger. Learn to cherish the moments when you are able to play games and when you are in good physical condition.

At the very least, a career revival for Joe Gomez, who took advantage of the opportunity presented by Alexander-Arnold as well as Andy Robertson’s injury troubles during the previous season to demonstrate that he is still capable of being a vital contributor, and the emergence of young Conor Bradley gave some assistance.

Although it was difficult for Alexander-Arnold to be gone for an extended period of time, he adds that it was at least encouraging to see other players stand up to cover for his absence. This is one of the positives that they will now take away from the 2023-24 season moving forward.

He continued by saying, “All you want is for people to step up and assist the team in winning.” Conor did an excellent job throughout that period of time to be ready to step in, and Joe Gomez, who was also outstanding throughout the course of the season, did an excellent job as well. The quality of each of them has been commendable.

“It was a good season, built on by the previous season [2022-23]: we improved as a team, we challenged for the championship, we went far, and we made progress. It is a good season if you make progress at any point during the season. Embrace the good, move on, and perhaps we’ll see each other again the following season.
