Mason Greenwood Drops Hint at Man Utd Exit: Getafe Loanee Puts £2m Mansion Up for Rent

Mason Greenwood has made yet another significant hint that he intends to transfer out of Manchester United and depart the team.

The Red Devils academy graduate, who has scored 10 goals across all competitions, has been on loan at Spanish team Getafe for the past season. After being suspended by the club due to accusations of attempted rape, coercive and controlling behavior, and assault, he was shipped to Spain.

Although all allegations were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service, Greenwood has not yet rejoined Old Trafford’s starting lineup. It doesn’t seem likely now that he will. The Sun claims that the striker is now renting out his £2 million property. The completely furnished six-bedroom pad is on the market for £14,000 a month.

During his tenure at United, Greenwood lived in the mansion. If he decides to move on, several clubs would like to hire him.

In addition to Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Napoli are vying for the 22-year-old’s signing. Greenwood would want to stick on Getafe president Angel Torres’ side, he has disclosed.

He stated earlier this month: “I believe he would stay another year here if it were up to the boy, his parents, and the club [Getafe].” We’ll have to wait though, since Manchester United wants to sell if a strong bid is made. However, I’m hoping he’ll stay.

Additionally, Torres stated that Barcelona had held discussions with the forward. “I spoke with [Atletico CEO] Miguel Angel [Gil Marin] about other things,” Torres continued. “Atletico has not asked me about Greenwood.” Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, was the only person to ask me while he was here.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the recently acquired minority owner of United, has also shared his opinions on Greenwood’s future. In February, he hinted that no long-term call had been made at that point.

It’s true that we will decide, Ratcliffe stated. “I’m limited to discussing the general framework for how we would make choices of that nature. Is he the right kind of football player and do we think he’s a good man?

Mason Greenwood drops bombshell on Manchester United future

We are in charge of football since he plays for Manchester United. “Yeah, we have to make decisions,” is the response. It’s obvious that we need to decide. No choice has been decided upon. Of course, he’s not the only one who is on loan.

We will deal with the one or two football players we have to deal with and make a decision about. It will involve understanding the reality rather than the hype. Then, essentially, try to decide fairly based on values—that is, is he a nice guy or not? Would we and the supporters be at ease with him playing genuinely for Manchester United or not?”
