After the troubled American rapper admitted to hitting his ex-girlfriend and pop diva Cassie amid abuse allegations, Steph Curry unfollowed Diddy on Instagram.
Just one month after Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes did the same thing, the NBA star reportedly removed Diddy from his Instagram and X following on Tuesday, according to the celebrity and entertainment-focused X account “Say Cheese!”
After CNN broadcast evidence of the attack in 2016, Diddie posted a video of himself apologizing for punching his ex-partner Cassie, with whom he dated from 2007 to 2018. He said he was “truly sorry” and called his behavior “inexcusable.”
In the security footage, Combs can be seen beating and kicking R&B singer Cassie while only sporting a white towel. He then pushes and drags Cassie and hurls a vase in her direction.
In November, Cassie—legal name: Cassandra Ventura—filed a lawsuit against Combs, claiming that she had been subjected to years of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. Although Combs was the target of considerable scrutiny after the lawsuit was resolved the next day, numerous other lawsuits were brought against him in the months that followed. Additionally, a federal criminal sex-trafficking investigation led to Combs’ mansions being raided by officials in Miami and Los Angeles.
Although he had refuted the claims made in the cases, it wasn’t until Sunday that he or his representatives answered to the recently surfaced film.
Diddy states in the video, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that.” “I went and I sought out professional help,” he continues. I started attending counseling and treatment. I had to beg God to be gracious and forgiving. I really apologize. However, I’m determined to improve every single day as a guy. I’m not pleading for pardon. I apologize sincerely.
In the apology video, Combs appears to be on a patio, sporting a T-shirt and a serious expression. Following accusations that have jeopardized his career and reputation for the past six months, this is the hip-hop mogul’s most blunt statement and first apology.
The March 5, 2016, security camera footage closely matches Ventura’s lawsuit’s account of an event at an InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
Combs won’t face any criminal charges as a result of the beating. The allegations of assault and battery against him would probably have long since passed their statute of limitations.
Many of the claims made in the cases are genuine as well, but it’s possible that the federal investigators investigating Combs are searching for possible legal crimes to prosecute.
In 2005, Ventura joined Diddy’s label. For over ten years, the two maintained an intermittent love relationship.
