During his 2022 NBA Finals run, Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry ignited a craze with his “night night” celebration; Neymar Jr. is the most recent elite athlete to follow in the four-time champion’s footsteps.
In Paris St. Germain’s Ligue 1 victory over Montpellier on Saturday, Neymar Jr. scored two goals.
The Brazilian attacker went all Curry on social media after scoring his second goal.
The two athletes have met multiple times in the past and have a great deal of mutual regard for one another.
Neymar is only one of many elite athletes from different sports who imitate Curry’s scoring motion.
Steph Curry gets things moving.
Athletes from a variety of sports emulated Curry’s celebration following the Warriors’ 2022 NBA Finals victory over the Boston Celtics.
Along with MLB player Andrew McCutchen, WNBA players Sabrina Ionescu and Skylar Diggins-Smith were among the first to participate in the celebration.
Curry did not invent the “night night” celebration, but it never gained as much traction as it did.
Curry will probably give Neymar some credit for bringing “night night” back to life, as he has his own legendary celebration.
