After rejoining Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United in January, Sancho’s situation has drastically changed.

In the midst of his public altercation with Erik ten Hag, United chose to let the winger to temporarily join Dortmund. Due to his subpar performances in practice, Sancho was left out of the matchday squad that traveled to the Emirates to play Arsenal, the Red Devils manager said reporters in September.

The 24-year-old responded by accusing the management of lying and using him as a scapegoat in a social media message.

Club management attempted to mediate the situation, but it goes without saying that their efforts were fruitless. After that, Sancho was forced to train apart from the senior squad and expelled from the first team.

He has, nevertheless, been given another life in Germany. In his 18 appearances for Dortmund throughout the Bundesliga and Europe thus far, Sancho has recorded three goals and two assists.

In both of the Signal Iduna Park team’s Champions League semi-final matchups with Paris Saint-Germain, he was a key member of the team. Dortmund secured a spot in the championship game, where they will take on La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid.

The Daily Star claims that Sancho hasn’t done enough to persuade Southgate to include him in his plans for Euro 2024, though.

Jadon Sancho late to team meeting before being dropped by Gareth Southgate

“Gareth Southgate has no intention of handing Jadon Sancho an England lifeline ahead of the Euros,” the publication claims.

It is known that Southgate does not want to call up Sancho and bring him to the German championship this summer. With so much talent at the wide spots, Southgate is unwilling to take a chance on throwing off his long-term plans by giving Sancho a surprise return.

“Sancho will only be considered for recall by Southgate in the event that he sustains numerous injuries in that position.”

On May 21, Southgate is scheduled to announce his temporary training team, which he will then reduce to the final 25 players on the weekend of June 8–9.

Since missing a penalty in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley against Italy, Sancho has not appeared on the field for England. The United player has earned 23 caps for his country and scored three goals during that time.
