Man Utd player ratings vs Crystal Palace: Casemiro is an embarrassment! Midfielder hung out to dry as Diogo Dalot put to shame in Erik ten Hag’s tactics

GFX Man Utd Crystal Palace

The Brazilian produced one of his worst outings, but he wasn’t alone in a devastating loss.

Even in a bad season, this was a low. Manchester United lost their worst game of the season and established a club record 13 Premier League defeats. The 4-0 result belies the poor effort.

The whole field was a mess, and few players would survive such a disgrace. Even Casemiro, who had his worst United performance and probably his best career. The serial-winning Brazilian allowed Michael Olise get by him for the first goal and then gave him another after making the worst corner flag mistake.

Diogo Dalot, who surprisingly received more Football Writers’ Player of the Year votes than Erling Haaland, failed to prevent Tyrick Mitchell’s third goal. The United defense and midfield were scattered as Jean-Philippe Mateta extended Palace’s advantage in the first half.

United were hopeless without Bruno Fernandes, with Mason Mount unable to produce. Only the fans left the stadium with dignity, shouting till the finish despite their players’ disgrace.

Goalkeeper & Defence

Andre Onana (4/10):

He performed well for United, reducing the damage despite conceding four goals.

Diogo Dalot (3/10):

Lacked leadership and couldn’t handle Olise’s energy. He lost confidence at the conclusion of the game and could scarcely pass.

Casemiro (2/10):

It’s hard to see him playing for United after this. He was often targeted and gave Palace several opportunities.

Jonny Evans (3/10):

It seemed unjust to subject the veteran to a game like this when he never anticipated to play so much.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (3/10):

He struggles at left-back, and this was another embarrassing match against his hometown team.

Midfield

Christian Eriksen (3/10):

Unable to handle Palace’s ferocity.

Kobbie Mainoo (4/10):

A night that may scаre a young, inexperienced athlete. He was not the worst but seemed clueless. Rescued by Onana after losing the ball in jeopardy.

Mason Mount (3/10):

Looked nothing like a Champions League champion or £60m ($75m) signing. He seemed bewildered.

аttаck

Antony (3/10):

Not the guy to lead an inexperienced аssаult. Too many turnovers and no success down his wing.

Rasmus Hojlund (4/10):

Created little save for battling Henderson for the goal and being penalized. Ball was often pushed away.

Alejandro Garnacho (4/10):

Kept sprinting after all hope was gone and appeared frustrated with his teammates’ poor performance.

Subs & Manager

Sofyan Amrabat (4/10):

Was brought in to stop the bleeding but failed.

Amad Diallo (N/A):

Unhelpful for United in either half.

Ethan Wheatley (N/A):

To humiliate him on his second appearance seemed harsh.

Erik ten Hag (3/10):

Left with an ιnjury-ravaged team, but players seem to have given up on him. That he oversaw the club’s worst Premier League losses will be hard to escape.
