During Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with West Ham, Jürgen Klopp claimed he had already put an end to his heated confrontation with Mohamed Salah, which was captured on camera.
Liverpool’s defeat at the London Stadium was likely the final fatal blow to their ambitions of winning the Premier League title. The main story, though, will be about Salah and Klopp’s altercation before to the Egyptian entering the game.
Salah was left off of Liverpool’s starting lineup in their midweek Merseyside derby loss to Everton due to a poor performance. Moreover, Darwin Núñez was placed on the bench.
Prior to their simultaneous introduction, Salah was observed arguing with Klopp, prompting Núñez to attempt calming him down. Klopp was compelled to discuss the situation in his TNT Sports interview following the game.
Asked what was said, Klopp remained tight-lipped and said: “We have already spoken in the dressing room and for me that’s done.”
Salah’s future was called into question earlier this week by Reds icon Jamie Carragher. He questioned the Egyptian’s performance in the Merseyside derby, saying he’s been “way off it” in recent weeks.
“We’ve never approached the new manager about Mo Salah’s future before, so there is a genuine conversation about what lies ahead for him. His contract only lasts for a year, Carragher stated on Sky Sports.
“He hasn’t looked like himself for the most of the season, but especially after his injury recovery. He is a superstar, a legend, and one of Liverpool’s all-time greats. However, he’s been really off base.”
There is a lot of conjecture that the superstar may go on to take on a new challenge, especially with Arne Slot expected to take over as manager. Questions about his future will only grow in light of his most recent argument with Klopp just before he leaves.
