Even after the victory, there are still worries over Erik ten Hag’s future as Manchester United manager, with rumors flying that he could be fired at the end of the season.

Despite having a lot to play for this season, Manchester United are focused on the summer transfer window.

Signing a centre-back appears to be a top goal for the Red Devils, who could lose several defenders this summer.

Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelof all have unclear futures with the club. Lisandro Martinez has struggled with fitness, while Harry Maguire is frequently erratic and unreliable.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United believe a price of £60-£70 million will suffice to capture Jarrad Branthwaite this summer.

The Englishman, who has been in good form for Everton this season, scored the first goal in Wednesday’s 2-0 Merseyside derby win over Liverpool.

Branthwaite, 21, joined Everton from Carlisle United of the Football League in January 2022. A year later, he went on loan to Blackburn Rovers.

He returned to Goodison Park in 2021 after spending the previous season on loan with PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
