Stephen Curry ‘suffers bitterness’ when Warriors are eliminated from NBA Playoffs 2024

The Golden State Warriors officially closed the 2023-2024 NBA season , when the dream of winning another NBA title with stars Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson was extinguished in a heavy 94-118 loss to the Sacramento Kings.

The Warriors are used to winning, so having an “early break,” combined with the lackluster performance they showed in an important game, is sure to hurt Curry and his teammates. It’s a pain that won’t go away anytime soon, especially considering the possibility that the Warriors may have just played their final game with the Big Three on the same line.

Despite the painful defeat, Curry still respects his opponent and is aware of the strength of the Sacramento Kings team.

“They played very well. It was certainly a tough way to end our season. Obviously we’ve been through a lot throughout the year. The last two months have given us the opportunity to get into this situation where you win one game, you win one game and you’re right where you expected to be. But we will go home. At least you hold your head high knowing that there are many important things to work towards. That was my thought.”

With Thompson playing ineffectively, Curry had to shoulder the responsibility of scoring points for the Warriors. However, his 22 points were simply not enough to help Golden State catch up with the Kings in scoring throughout 4 rounds.

“Golden Bridge” entered the match against Sacramento with significant momentum, as they won 4 of their last 5 matches in the regular season. But in the end it was all in vain. Golden State now faces many questions going into the season regarding its roster and future. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are still under contract with the Warriors for many more years, but it’s a different scenario for Thompson, who could become a free agent next offseason.
