While at Lyon, Guimaraes was one of the top midfield players in Ligue 1. However, his surprise transfer to Newcastle was seen as somewhat of a coup.

The Brazilian has since paid back the Magpies for their faith in him, making over 100 appearances and contributing 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. Because of his versatility in midfield and his young age of 26, Guimaraes is a vital member of the Brazil team and one of the most sought-after midfielders in the English game.

It has long been rumored that he may depart the Magpies in the summer, with top European teams vying for his signature. As they seek to bolster their midfield ranks, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and other teams have all been linked to a move for the former Lyon star.

Newcastle think they have just done something which could help keep Bruno Guimaraes at the club

He might be the Gunners’ best option to help them achieve their goal of having a presence in midfield to allow Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard to show off further up the pitch. Ornstein also claims that Arsenal might be the team that moves next in the pipeline.

Ornstein: Guimaraes “May Be Looking” at Arsenal

It is believed that the Gunners are Guimaraes’ admirers.

Ornstein stated that Arsenal might be considering Brazilian forward Guimaraes, who has a release clause, on The Athletic FC Podcast. He declared:

Newcastle United consider £50m Premier League star amid Bruno Guimaraes fears

“Then you get into that category of midfielders; Bruno Guimaraes is one player that comes to mind that Arsenal and other teams really like.” He is able to play both the six and the eight roles.

“There is a release clause, but Newcastle will want to stay onto him. He needs to deliver right immediately to whoever is going to take him.

“Arsenal may be looking.”

Eddie Howe has called Guimaraes a “game-changer.” His Premier League expertise would be a huge asset to top-tier teams as it would help them maintain their on-field success and performances without any setbacks.

The former Lyon player is a true talent, and since Howe took over as manager, he and Alexander Isak have undoubtedly been Newcastle United’s most significant players. If Arsenal were to recruit him, it would not only boost the squad but also debilitate a rival that is vying for the title.

Arsenal May Take the Lead in the Bruno Guimaraes RaceThe Gunners have not yet received monetary penalties for their actions. When it comes to Guimaraes, Arsenal has a genuine surprise up their sleeve: in order to adhere to PSR regulations, the Magpies may need to sell their top midfield player in the summer.

Gabriel Martinelli, who called Guimares “one of the best” midfielders in the world, said he would most likely not be opposed to the acquisition.

The Tyneside club may have to sell some players in the summer as a result of their heavy spending in the last few seasons, which has improved their reputation in the league. Being one of their most reliable players, Guimaraes might be traded for a significant sum if a club shows interest; nevertheless, Newcastle will not want this to occur.

Given the youth of Anthony Gordon, Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall, and Sven Botman, now might be the ideal moment to sell Guimaraes from a logistical standpoint rather than a semantic one. If the club receives a substantial amount, this indicates that the Magies’ financial plan is succeeding.
