In the last week, three important Liverpool players have returned from injuries.
Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Diogo Jota all made a full recovery from ailments that had sidelined them for almost two months each. In the depressing losses to Crystal Palace and Atalanta, Jota has started on the bench while Alisson made an unexpected start in the latter match. And once Conor Bradley had a problem, Alexander-Arnold was brought in against Palace.
It is now uncertain whether Liverpool will be able to win both the Premier League and the Europa League. They are now two points behind Manchester City in the title chase and will go to Fulham on Thursday after losing 3-0 overall against Atalanta.
Here is the most recent information on Reds injuries before to certain games.
Conor Bradley: Ankle
In the first half of Palace’s defeat, the right-back was substituted off. Bradley was in discomfort, Klopp acknowledged, but his problem had resolved and more testing was necessary. The Northern Ireland international has had a fantastic debut season at Anfield, tallying six assists and one goal in 22 contests.
Possible match back: None
Stefan Bajcetic
Other Liverpool players have exercised caution with the 19-year-old midfielder Stefan Bajcetic’s return to duty. Before playing for 30 minutes in the under-21s’ 3-0 triumph over Manchester United the next day, Bajcetic was on the bench against Atalanta. The young Reds might need more playing time, but choices need to be made.
Possible rematch: Sunday, April 21, Fulham (A).
Thiago Alcantara: Hip
This season, the midfielder has played in just one game, a five-minute cameo as a substitute in a 3-1 loss to Arsenal at the beginning of February. With his contract set to expire in June, it is unclear if Thiago will play for Liverpool again.
Possible matchback: None
Joel Matip’s knee
After rupturing his ACL, the center back needed surgery in December. Matip is back on the turf, but she won’t be returning for another month. Moreover, his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Possible matchback: None
Ben Doak’s knee
Four months ago, the 18-year-old winger had an injury that required surgery. Doak uploaded a picture of himself in training, jogging across the grass, but Liverpool may be wary of his coming back.
