Mikel Arteta’s side dropped to second place in the Premier League after Man City won 5-1 against Luton Town at the Etihad Stadium. Arsenal has a chance to regain the top spot if they win against Aston Villa in round 33 of the 2023/24 Premier League.

Coach Mikel Arteta seems to be facing two headaches due to injuries in defense before the match against Unai Emery’s team. Gabriel Magalhaes, who has been recovering from an Achilles problem for the past month, missed Arsenal’s training session on Friday, and was not seen with his teammates in the final preparation session before the match at the Emirates Stadium.

Kiwior, who was substituted at half-time in the 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League, was also not among the Arsenal players who took part in the latest training session. Takehiro Tomiyasu is expected to be able to play at centre-back in Gabriel’s absence, while Oleksandr Zinchenko will play on the left wing.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa will be without influential midfielder Douglas Luiz during their trip to Arsenal because he is serving a suspension. Emery’s team is currently ranked 4th in the Premier League, equal with Tottenham with 60 points but with a higher goal difference. However, Aston Villa has only won 1 win in the last 5 matches in the Premier League.
