Why Man United defender Tyrell Malacia has gone missing: The defender hasn’t been seen since playing for Holland last JUNE ‘following his decision to go against club’s suggestion’

Tyrell Malacia, a left-back for Manchester United, is projected to miss the upcoming season due to a meniscus damage in his knee.

Due to Malacia’s and Luke Shaw’s injuries, Erik ten Hag has been short-staffed in that role for a significant portion of the campaign.

Malacia, a defender worth £13 million, hasn’t played a single minute this season. In June of last year, he played for the Netherlands against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League semifinal.According to The Athletic, Malacia disregarded United’s advise last summer when it was decided to have surgery on his knee due to soreness during preseason training.

They claim that when United offered a surgeon in London, Malacia insisted on having his preferred surgeon in the Netherlands do the surgery.

The Dutch defender, in his second season at Old Trafford, has been keeping a low profile

In his second season at Old Trafford, the Dutch defender has not made much of an impression. His request was granted by United, and the procedure was carried out outside of the club’s purview.

But as Malacia gradually regained her fitness in the fall, scans showed that little pieces of cartilage were still present surrounding the meniscus.

Malacia was offered the choice to proceed with his rehabilitation program or have a second procedure performed to remove the fragments.

It was decided to have the same surgeon do the surgery again in November, but with United delegates supervising the procedure this time.

Malacia had to begin his rehabilitation from the beginning, though, as United declared in December that he had experienced a “setback” but would “return to action early next year.”

Ten Hag has openly declared that he believed Malacia would be ready to return in January, which is why he decided to end Sergio Reguilon’s loan period.

However, Malacia hasn’t made a comeback yet, so with Shaw still out, United will have to make do with backup left backs.

Luke Shaw's injury at the same time as Malacia's has meant United are short at left-back

Due to Malacia’s and Luke Shaw’s injuries occurring simultaneously, United is lacking a left-back.

Both Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is often a right-back, have played on that side.

According to The Athletic, United has questioned if Malacia’s recovery under their supervision was completed appropriately and about his trip to the Netherlands for the first surgery last summer.

Malacia reportedly neglected to get in touch with the team and give regular updates on his development. The athlete’s agents acknowledge this, but they maintain that because he was using crutches, he didn’t undergo any rehabilitation.

The fact that Malacia hasn’t posted on any of his social media platforms since last summer just serves to heighten the air of mystеry.

Nonetheless, he has modeled apparel for a boyhood friend’s ForevaDifferent label.

Recently, Aaron Wan-Bissaka (right) has had to substitute for left defender in a few games.

A dependable left-back would be helpful to Ten Hag in his figҺt to keep his job at Old Trafford.

The FA Cup is United’s last chance of winning a trophy this season, and the team is figҺting to qualify for the Champions League next season, which puts pressure on the coach.

In an attempt to reduce the 11-point deficit between fourth-place Tottenham Hotspur and fifth-place Aston Villa, United will travel to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
