Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo has voiced the team’s disappointment following their recent draw against bitter rivals Manchester United. Despite dominating proceedings for much of the match, Liverpool failed to capitalize on their chances, allowing Manchester United to salvage a point.
Endo expressed frustration over the missed opportunities, lamenting Liverpool’s inability to convert their numerous goal-scoring chances. The Japanese midfielder acknowledged that the squad had produced enough quality chances to secure a more favorable outcome, emphasizing their disappointment with the result.
“We’re disappointed about the result because we had a lot of chances in the first half. I think we could have scored more and we could play better. We’re disappointed about the result,” Endo remarked, reflecting on Liverpool’s performance.
Despite the setback, Endo highlighted Liverpool’s strong start to the game, noting the abundance of opportunities created in the first half. While acknowledging the significance of converting those chances, Endo emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and shifting focus to the upcoming matches.
“We knew that we needed to start strong from the beginning of the game – I think we did from the beginning. We had a lot of chances, so if we score a few [more] goals in the first half, I think the result would be different. But it’s happened, so we need to stay positive and keep going,” Endo affirmed, underlining the team’s determination to bounce back from the disappointment.
As Liverpool looks ahead to their remaining fixtures, Endo’s sentiments encapsulate the team’s resilient attitude and commitment to regaining momentum in their pursuit of success.
