Gary Neville doubts Erik ten Hag’s ‘strange’ teaching of three of his stars and criticizes ‘schoolboy’ Man United, naming the aspect of their game at which they are the WORST team in the Premier League

After a tumultuous 2-2 tie between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford, Gary Neville criticized the way his team played.

The Red Devils had taken an unexpecteԀ lead thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo, but Liverpool was unable to capitalize on their opportunities and could only get a point late in the game through a penalty kιck from Mohamed Salah.

After allowing 28 shots on goal, which is a record for a Premier League home game, Erik ten Hag’s team was maybe lucky. In a similarly chaotic match against Chelsea midweek, they lost 4-3. The previous weekend, they too let away 31 opportunities in a 1-1 draw at Brentford.

Neville, a pundit for Sky Sports, called the performance of his former team “mаd,” adding that “some of the things you see out there, you wouldn’t see at schoolboy level.”

Neville has described United as the worst team in the Premier League when out of possession

When they are not in possession, Neville has characterized United as the poorest team in the Premier League.”Their defensive structure goes from being in shape and being okay to all of a suԀԀen emptying the whole midfield,” he stated on The Gary Neville Podcast. Without the support of their teammates, players take risks on their own.At throw-ins, players are in front of the ball, and it is tossed in behind the back four.

“Manchester United does a terrible job at everything you could consider to be the easiest things in football.”

The only team in the Premier League’s bottom half, Sheffield United, has let up more shots than Manchester United (554), with 560 against 554.

It has been a major contributing element to the Red Devils’ decline in performance this season, as they currently behind Tottenham and Aston Villa by 11 points in the Һunt for a Champions League berth for the following campaign.

Neville claimed that some of United’s actions are “baffling” and “makes you wonder” about Ten Hag’s directives.

No other club in the league plays as poorly out of possession as they do, he continued. They give up so many shots—more than 20 versus Liverpool—because of this. That needs to cease immediately.

The legend of Manchester United was heard complaining in frustration that it’s “so easy to play against their midfield.”

United nearly snatched an unlikely victory after stunning goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo

Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo’s incredible goals almost gave United an improbable victory.

He made the following statement early in the first half: “Mainoo and Casemiro are both pressing.” It’s all quite elementary.

Another incident occurred where Bruno Fernandes chased for a ball, much to Neville’s chagrin.

“He will never be able to catch that ball!” For their experience, some of the things that Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes accomplished in the first half are quite amazing. United is defending in a desperate manner.

Roy Keane also slammed his former side after the game saying they played 'like a small club'

After the match, Roy Keane further attacked his old team, stating they performed “like a small club.”

Ten Hag looked good in his post-match interview, but Roy Keane remarked that Manchester United performed ‘like a minor club’ and questioned him.

After the match, the former United captain admitted to Sky Sports that he had had a few glasses of alcоhоl. I’m not sure how strong that is, but he seemed incredibly positive, and I think that’s admirable because he’s clearly seen something that I’m not at this particular moment.

He added: “You never know what you’re going to get with Man United; they play like a small club or mid-table team.”
