Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk expressed disappointment as Liverpool dropped more points in the Premier League title race following a chaotic 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

Reflecting on the missed chances, Klopp acknowledged the team’s role in the outcome, stating, “We caused a few problems ourselves… that won’t be enough [in the title race], definitely not.”

Van Dijk echoed Klopp’s sentiments, emphasizing Liverpool’s missed opportunities and self-inflicted setbacks: “It is all our own fault again… It definitely feels like a loss at this point because we were wasteful with our chances.”

While Klopp praised Quansah for his resilience after a mistake, he acknowledged the need for improvement: “He will learn from it and that’s the best thing that can happen.”

On the United side, manager Erik ten Hag expressed mixed emotions, acknowledging pride in the team’s performance but disappointment in conceding late goals: “On one side I am disappointed… but we have to blame ourselves for making stupid mistakes.”

Ten Hag highlighted the need for improvement in defensive consistency, citing the team’s various defensive shapes as a contributing factor to their struggles.

Despite the frustrations, both teams remain in contention, with Klopp acknowledging Arsenal’s potential challenge against United: “If they [United] play like today, Arsenal will win the game, I am 100 per cent sure.”
