With a hamstring injury, Lindelof was substituted in the second half of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford. The Sweden international won’t be able to play again until May.

Martinez has also caused more bad news for Man United; during a training session, the Argentina international strained his calf.

According to a statement on the team’s official website, “Manchester United center-backs Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez will be out of action for at least a month due to muscle injuries.”

“Due to a hamstring issue, Sweden captain Lindelof had to leave the game against Brentford in the second half of last Saturday’s Premier League encounter.

Martinez’s ongoing injury issues

“After 69 minutes, Martinez took Victor’s place; this was the Argentina international’s first game since early February. Unfortunately, Licha will be out of action for the next several games due to a calf strain that she suffered during training.”

Martinez, who suffered a knee injury against West Ham United at the beginning of February, made his 11th appearance of the season against Brentford.

Nevertheless, the 26-year-old will now have to spend more time on the sidelines because of his terrible 12-month fitness woes.

Martinez was there for the start of preseason training despite having surgery in April of last year to repair the fractured metatarsal he sustained against Sevilla in the Europa League.

Martinez and Lindelof anticipate returning before the season ends.

However, early in the season, the Argentine experienced pain in the same place. Scans indicated that the injury had not healed completely, necessitating another surgery and a protracted recuperation period.

In their next five Premier League games, Man United will play Chelsea, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Sheffield United, and Burnley. The defensive pair is expected to miss all of those games.
The two will be absent from the FA Cup semi-final on April 21 at Wembley against Coventry City.

But, should Man United advance to the FA Cup final, they might make a comeback for the team’s final three league games of the year against Crystal Palace, Arsenal, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Due to a fitness concern, Raphael Varane was replaced during the halftime of the team’s previous match against Brentford. However, he is expected to be fine for Thursday’s match against Chelsea, where he is expected to be partnered with Harry Maguire, who is back to full strength, in the middle of defense.
