Real Madrid wants to boost their attack by’stealing’ Garnacho, but Florentino Perez is prepared to spend €120M to free Rodrygo from Manchester United

This summer, a forward will undoubtedly join Manchester United’s attacking ranks, as the team has been weak without Rasmus Hojlund.

Rodrygo: “It was a key game and we're delighted with the win"

Although a striker is a must, there is a case to be made that United also needs a wide forward given Antony’s poor play, Jadon Sancho’s unclear future, and Omari Forson’s lackluster showing.

As a result, according to Spanish publication Sport, Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is the subject of “close monitoring” by United.

The arrival of Endrick and Kylian Mbappe will further erode the Brazilian’s spot on the squad for the upcoming campaign.

Throughout the 2023–24 season, the 23-year-old Brazilian has been a key player for Los Blancos, appearing in 41 games in all competitions and contributing eight assists and 13 goals.

Although Rodrygo recently signed a contract extension with Real Madrid that will keep him with the team until June 2028, Manchester United and Arsenal are keeping a careful eye on his circumstances in the Spanish capital in case they have the chance to sign him.

The price tag of €100 million that Real Madrid apparently places on Rodrygo might be a major deterrent for English teams looking to recruit the versatile forward.

Although Rodrygo can play a multitude of оffensive roles, he has primarily appeared this season as a striker with Vinicius Junior, with Jude Bellingham filling the number 10 position.

But the Brazilian has stated that he prefers broader perspectives, saying

“I’ve always stated that I can play on the wings; I just don’t enjoy playing as a nine, even though I have to for my club. I can travel around more freely in Brazil.

Rodrygo’s position in the team has been further hampered by Real Madrid’s tactical changes under head coach Carlo Ancelotti, which included a switch to a 4-3-1-2 system after Karim Benzema left last summer and Bellingham joined.

There is still much to speculate about Kylian Mbappe’s possible transfer to Real Madrid at the end of the current campaign, therefore it’s unclear how Real Madrid will аssаult in the 2024–25 campaign.

Arsenal and Manchester United are both actively looking to add strikers to their lineups. Arsenal is hoping to replace Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus, while Manchester United wants to support Rasmus Hojlund, who is their only senior-level acknowledged striker.

Rodrygo is presently playing for Brazil in friendlies against England and Spain, but his future is still very much up in the air. Arsenal and Manchester United are keeping a careful eye on his situation as they plan their summer transfer plans.

But a source claims that Alejandro Garnacho, a standout for Manchester United, hopes to play for Real Madrid in the future.

After establishing himself as a player to watch the previous season, the 19-year-old is having a fantastic sophomore season with the United first team.

Garnacho has started 20 of his 28 Premier League games, scoring five goals while holding off challenge from Antony on the right wing.

After making a stunning comeback last season, he was rewarded with a lucrative new five-year contract; but, a report suggests the Red Devils may strugglе to hold onto him after that.

Alejandro Garnacho is being closely monitored by Real Madrid’s scouting squad and President Florentino Pérez.

The home team at the Bernabéu views the Argentine winger as a target in their scheme to revitalize Real Madrid, just like they did when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

Due to this tactic, Real has added Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, Federico Valverde, Edouardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Arda Güler in recent years.

Over the previous 12 months, Garnacho has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most promising players.

Alejandro Garnacho (2004) is rated at €40 million by Transfermarkt and has a contract with Manchester United that expires in the summer of 2028.
