Tatum Leads Celtics to Victory Over Pelicans, Halting Two-Game Slide

In a commanding display, Jayson Tatum spearheaded the Boston Celtics to a decisive 104-92 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, ensuring the Celtics avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season.

With Tatum’s 23 points leading the charge, supported by Kristaps Porzingis’ double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, the Celtics showcased their resilience and depth. 

Jaylen Brown contributed 17 points to the winning effort, helping Boston maintain their status as the NBA’s top-ranked team with a stellar record of 58-16.

Despite a valiant effort from New Orleans, with Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum combining for 49 points, the Pelicans were unable to match the Celtics’ intensity.

Boston seized control of the game in the third quarter, holding New Orleans to a mere 11 points while extending their lead to double digits. Tatum’s timely 3-pointer pushed the Celtics ahead 79-68, solidifying their dominance for the remainder of the contest.

The Pelicans struggled to find their rhythm in the second half, shooting a dismal 4 of 23 from the field in the third quarter, allowing Boston to maintain their lead and secure the victory.

With Brandon Ingram sidelined due to injury, New Orleans aimed to elevate their performance but fell short in their quest to surpass the Celtics.

Looking ahead, the Celtics will face the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night, concluding a challenging six-game road stretch, while the Pelicans will host the Phoenix Suns in the next leg of their six-game homestand.
