According to The Mirror, Ajax’s Brian Brobbey is an option of Arsenal director Edu this summer.

The Netherlands international has impressed this season, despite Ajax enduring a miserable campaign, finishing fifth in the Eredivisie, 31 points off the top of the table.

Brobbey has scored 20 goals in 38 appearances, and also provided 8 assists since the beginning of the season. John Heitinga worked with Brobbey at the Ajax academy and expressed his admiration for this striker. The former Dutch player said: “At the age of 16, he weighed 91 kg – 1.80 meters tall – and Brian was the fastest at the Academy. He ran 30 meters in 3.7 seconds.”  Brobbey was even nicknamed the Beast due to his strong presence in attack.

Arsenal needs to strengthen their attack in the summer of 2024, and has been linked with many expensive strikers , such as Brentford’s Ivan Toney or an 85 million pound contract for Viktor Gyokeres. Brobbey’s asking price has yet to be determined, although John van ‘t Schip – Ajax’s interim director – said clubs would need “crazy money” to recruit the Dutch striker. However, with Ajax in decline, Brobbey may look to leave and that is a good opportunity for the Gunners.

However, SunSport has learned that the Gunners have put up a £22 million proposal for Mayoral.

In an effort to hold out for more than £39 million for their star striker, Getafe has withdrawn their initial offer.

Arsenal has been keeping a close eye on the 26-year-old since November after he scored 12 league goals for Getafe this season.

Mayoral has formed a strong partnership with Mason Greenwood

In La Liga, only Jude Bellingham has scored more than the former Spain under-21 international, with Mayoral and Greenwood developing a solid rapport.

With three goals scored between them so far, the duo has propelled Getafe to eighth position in the standings and within six points of the European spots.

After a brief loan period, Mayoral completed a permanent move to the Deep Blues in 2022.

A year prior, Crystal Palace was rumored to be interested in signing the Roma player for the Premier League.
