Draymond Green has a lengthy history with Hazel Renee. The actress introduced the actor and the NBA player before he had ever played professional basketball, let alone won four championships. They became acquainted while attending Michigan State University, where he led the Spartans to two Big Ten tournament championships while she ran track and field.
She explains to ESSENCE, “We were both athletes and in the same theater class.” We already knew each other, therefore it was only logical that we chose each other for group projects.
However, the two were unable to fall in love at that time. In 2012, he joined the NBA, while she focused on her blossoming acting career, which finally led to a recurring role on Fox’s Empire. Years later, the two would reconcile and go on their first date in Los Angeles. It was sweet and simple, which made it unforgettable.
“It’s still one of our favorite things to do together,” she says. “We went to a rooftop pool and hung out at the cabana all day.” We spent the entire day together, catching up and conversing as we hadn’t seen each other in a long time. It was quite informal, but it also expressed our closeness. We really are the best of friends.
After exchanging vows on August 14, the two best friends in life and love are now married. Before walking down the aisle, they celebrated by posing for an amazing engagement photo shoot, which was coordinated by planner Diann Valentine and photographed by famous wedding photographer Stanley Babb of Stanlo Photography. For their two royal appearances in pictures, Renee wore Phylicia Ellis gowns and Green wore Eaden Myles suits.
“We had a wide vision that mirrored our current condition of being. In comparison to previous years, we believe we have made significant progress. Renee chuckles and says, “We wanted the shoot to showcase our flair and natural boss spirit. We’re more connected and in tune with one other.”
They’ve also developed a nice life together since they reconnected. They have a daughter named Cash and two children from previous relationships: Olive and Draymond Jr. Their favorite pastime to do together is travel, thus they are almost always together.
“Together, we have experienced a great deal and traveled to numerous countries,” she said. “We both enjoy traveling and have a fantastic time. I love having the opportunity to explore the world with him.
As husband and wife, she hopes to do a lot more of it. When questioned prior to the wedding on Sunday, she stated that she was most pleased about making treasured memories with the individuals who had supported them since the beginning.
Renee goes on to say, “I’m excited to celebrate our love and this new chapter in our lives with the people who have supported us from the beginning.” “It is invaluable to have family and friends’ support.”
