Weir never again featured for the team, however, while Rashford, who scored twice in the Old Trafford match, continued to grow as a player.

After rising through the academy ranks, he was a member of the club for eight years before moving to Hull in the summer of 2016.

Weir, 28, inked a three-year contract with the Tigers, but he was only able to play in seven games due to ιnjury.

After a brief stay in League One at Bolton, Weir left England to work in Hungary and Slovakia. He most recently played for FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce, a top-tier Slovak team, but he gave up football last month because it was too taxing on his body to continue playing on a full-time basis.

He is currently employed as a travel agent, although he still plays football with Danny Simpson and Ravel Morrison, two former Red Devils.

Weir loves the times he spent with the first team players and has no regrets about his career or the time he spent at United.

“I was on the bench for about 10 games,” the man stated to The Guardian. It seems like a lifetime ago, but it was a bit of a blur. Although my debut was an unbelievable experience, those were the highlights of my career.

It was amazing to be a part of the team and interact with a club of that magnitude. Nothing would make me trade that minute for anything.”
