Manchester City is ready to sell ‘golden foot’ worth £100million to Arsenal

Although Manchester City seems to have an endless transfer budget, it seems as though they are thinking about selling one of its players, who Arsenal was interested in signing.

After netting 18 goals in just 26 Premier League games the previous season, Jack Grealish, a former captain of Aston Villa, was considered one of the world’s top prospects until he signed a stunning £100 million contract to join the Cityzens in August 2021.

Arsenal had been strongly linked to the now-28-year-old as well, with the Englishman apparently a top target for Arsenal at the time, even though Manchester City ultimately prevailed in the competition for him.

Some fans have questioned if there is still a chance for Grealish to join Arsenal after hearing last night that Pep Guardiola’s team may now try to cash in on him and reinvest in their team.

The saying “Arteta always goes back for his targets” has been used frequently by Arsenal supporters, and some have even hoped that this could be another instance.

Because of his inconsistent playing time, it is commonly assumed that Grealish would be available for a significantly lesser fee now, even though the treble-holders paid a British transfer record £100 million for him at the time.

The England international had previously teased Arsenal fans when he was reported to be among the club’s transfer targets, having posted: “My favourite stadium in the prem [Premier League],” on Instagram after playing against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium in 2020.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for a wide attacker in recent months, which will do little to put talk of Grealish to bed, though as of now only fan suggestion and previous rumours link the 28-year-old to the Gunners.
