The most recent footballer to claim that playing for Manchester United was his childhood dream is RASMUS HOJLUND.

But the new £72 million striker for the Red Devils has the proof! Hojlund, 20, revealed a statement he penned when he was ten years old for a school project outlining his two football goals.

Both have materialized in less than ten years, which is a significant victory for the “winner child” who inspires the committed Dane to keep growing.

Ten years ago, Hojlund wrote: “My goal is to play for the Danish national team and for Manchester United.” He then read the letter to TV2 Sport.

With the first of his six senior caps in September, dream part one became a reality.

And United successfully resisted PSG’s last-minute interest to seal his signing from Atalanta last Thursday, completing the second part of the goal.

According to Hojlund, it’s all about having big dreams and having the courage to pursue them. If not, you won’t succeed in your objectives.

“It’s uncommon to get everything in one package, but with me and Manchester United, I’d say everything has just come together. It is the ideal match.

“The club is currently undergoing a process, and I would dearly love to be a part of it.

This is also the reason I made the decision to move here at this time; I believe I can develop with the team and, with any luck, we can win many trophies together.

The hitman, who was born in Copenhagen, also uploaded a photo of him as a young student wearing United shirts with his younger brothers Emil and Oscar.

Rasmus’s siblings wore red shirts, whereas he wore black shirts.

He recalled that he was “very small” when he first became devoted to United.

“I think that Rasmus at ten would probably be “buzzing,” as they say over here in England,” Holland continued.

“I’ve pursued that because (he) set himself a goal,” the speaker said.

Holland, though, will miss United’s opening two games due to a preseason injury sustained while playing for Atalanta.
