Cheers for Sancho! After completing a £3.4 million loan deal, the former Man United player is seen smiling and laughing during his first training session with Dortmund

After returning to Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United, Jadon Sancho seems happy to be working among his old teammates.

Sancho returned to Germany on Wednesday afternoon to finish his medical, and on Thursday night he was seen participating in his first team practice.

Before Dortmund’s next Bundesliga match against SV Darmstadt 98 on Saturday afternoon, manager Edin Terzic was putting Sancho through his paces, and the player couldn’t help but grin.

The 23-year-old England international laughed and joked his way through possession-based, shooting, and conditioning exercises, seemingly enjoying up every second of the practice.

Sancho will be hoping to assist Dortmund, who are now fifth in the league after winning seven, drawing six, and losing three games, turn around their season.

When Dortmund boss put Sancho through his paces, he couldn’t help but grin. After more than a week of negotiations, an agreement was finally reached between Manchester United and Dortmund over Sancho’s temporary transfer to the German team.

In addition to a £3 million loan fee, United may collect incentives of up to £3.4 million contingent on how many appearances Sancho makes and Dortmund’s Champions League qualifying.

The Red Devils have agreed to pay £100,000 to remove Sancho off the books at Old Trafford, but Dortmund will cover the remainder of the winger’s £290,000 weekly salary.

Nevertheless, because the Bundesliga powerhouses sold the 23-year-old to United for a reported £73 million in 2021, they will not be able to sign the England international again in the summer.

Even still, Sancho is happy about the transfer since it will end a four and a half month absence from the team. He last played for United in late August after a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag.

Due to his reluctance to accept responsibility for his involvement in the rivalry, the winger now trains and eats by himself at Carrington, United’s training facility. He’s now farther down the hierarchy and cut off from the rest of the first team squad.

Sancho said, “It felt like coming home when I walked into the dressing-room today,” on his return to Dortmund. I’ve always had a strong relationship with the supporters here, I know the club thoroughly and out, and I’ve never lost touch with the administration.

“I can’t wait to play football with a smile on my face, see my teammates again, prepare goals, score goals, and help qualify for the Champions League.”

“Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has rejoined former club Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season,” the team announced on their official social media pages. The 23-year-old completed a deal to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021 after spending four seasons with the Bundesliga club starting in 2017. During that time, he scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists.

Sancho has made 82 Reds appearances to far, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and scored 12 goals in all competitions.

Now that Borussia Dortmund is getting ready to start their Bundesliga campaign again following a winter break, Sanchez will temporarily return to Germany. We wish the 23-cap England international the very best of luck for the rest of the campaign.
