Young midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has officially left MU to move to Sevilla on loan with an option to buy included in the deal.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano came up with the famous quote “Here we go” for this deal. Accordingly, Hannibal will join Sevilla on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season.
One special thing is that MU will not have a clause to buy back Hannibal. Sevilla can buy this player in June for 20 million euros, which is the value of the purchаse option clause in the contract.
Hannibal arrived in Spain on the evening of January 15 local time to undergo a medical examination before officially signing a contract with the La Liga team.
To get Hannibal’s services, Sevilla defeated Everton, who also wаnted the Tunisian star. In addition, there are a few Bundesliga clubs also interested in this player.
Since joining MU as a highly-rated teenager, Hannibal has always impressed in the youth team but has never played for long in the first team. Last season, he played quite successfully while on loan at Birmingham. But the appearance of Mason Mount makes Hannibal’s opportunities to play less and less.
The difficult financial situation causes MU to continuously sell its young stars. Before Hannibal, the Red Devils sold Alvaro Fernandes to Benfica and Mateo Mejia to Sevilla.
