Arsenal plans to spend £50m for ex-Bayern Munich striker

Arsenal are plotting a move for Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee, according to reports.

Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his attack amid Arsenal’s stuttering form.

Arsenal are interested in signing £50m-rated Joshua Zirkzee

Joshua Zirkzee, who is valued at £50 million, is a target for Arsenal.

The Gunners have only scored five goals and won one of the last seven games.

Arsenal is willing to conduct business this month, but after spending £200 million last summer, they may need to exercise caution with their money.

The Telegraph claims Bologna values Zirkzee at £50 million, making a deal for the striker difficult.

Zirkzee is a “unique” talent, according to Bologna sports director Marco Di Vaio, who stated as much last month. The Dutchman will not be traded this winter.

In his 22 games this season, Zirkzee has eight goals and four assists.

However, Arsenal will need to look for other targets if they are unable to come to an agreement with Bologna.

Borja Mayoral, a forward for Getafe who has shown promise in La Liga this year, is another player of note.

Last month, Mayoral was also mentioned as a possible Ivan Toney replacement for Brentford, with Fulham also being linked.

But SunSport understands that it is the Gunners who have tabled a bid worth £22million for Mayoral.

Getafe have knocked back their initial offer as they hold out for closer to £39m for their star striker.
