Szoboszlai, one of Liverpool’s most sought-after players worth 75 million euros, joined the club in 2023, the year his nation qualified for the Euro Cup next summer.

At the award ceremony Friday night at the Budapest Opera, the player stated, “It is a great honor to have received this very special award,” adding that reaching the national team classification was “the best thing of the year”.

After making his Hungarian national team debut in 2019, the midfielder has been captain since November 2022 and scored 10 goals in 38 appearances. Szoboszlai joined Liverpool in July 2023 and has scored two goals in 20 appearances.

 

The midfielder helped Hungary qualify for the European Championship in Germany by winning group G against Serbia, Montenegro, Lithuania, and Bulgaria.

 

Sports writers also named Marco Rossi, Hungary coach, best coach and the national team team of the year, in addition to Szoboszlai.
