Antetokounmpo and James Lead Early Votes for 2024 NBA All-Star Game
In the early voting phase for the upcoming 2024 NBA All-Star Game, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has emerged as the leading vote-getter in the Eastern Conference, while Los Angeles Lakers’ veteran LeBron James commands the top spot in the Western Conference.
Antetokounmpo, a seven-time NBA All-Star, secured the most votes among frontcourt players in the East, while James, a 19-time All-Star, continues to dominate the Western Conference frontcourt votes.
The guard positions see the Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic leading in the West and the Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton taking the lead in the East. Notably, Haliburton has a chance to showcase his skills in front of his home fans during the All-Star Game next month.
Fan votes constitute 50 percent of the data used to determine the Eastern and Western Conference starters, with current players’ votes contributing another 25 percent, and a panel of media making up the remaining 25 percent.
To boost fan engagement, the NBA has introduced a “3-for-1 Day” promotion, where each single fan vote on Friday will be tripled. The subsequent fan vote update is scheduled for January 11.
In the Western Conference frontcourt, James, alongside Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, leads the voting. Meanwhile, Doncic and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors are the top vote-getters at the guard positions.
In the Eastern Conference frontcourt, Antetokounmpo is joined by Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics in the lead. Tyrese Haliburton and Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks lead the guard positions.
The 2024 NBA All-Star Game is set to take place on February 18 in Indianapolis. Stay tuned for further updates as the excitement builds around this star-studded event.
