Sergio Reguilón will return to Tottenham after Manchester United fulfilled his loan break clause. The 27-year-old Spanish left-back joined United in September after Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were injured and played 12 games.

United terminated the contract with Shaw back in action, despite a minor ιnjury, and Malacia approaching a return.

Reguilón was expected to play less in the second half of the season after United was ousted from European contention and the Carabao Cup. If Spurs sold him in January, he may play for another club as he only played for United this season.

Tottenham have begun negotiations with Genoa about acquiring Radu Dragusin as a centre-back to improve their defense. Spurs coach Ange Postecoglou needs defensive reinforcements with Micky Van de Ven out since November and Cristian Romero out until February with a hamstring problem.

Postecoglou has frequently requested early January recruitment, and Genoa conversations are underway. Dragusin, a 21-year-old Romanian international from Juventus’ academy, has been a fixture in Serie A for Genoa for two seasons.

Spurs midfielder Pape Sarr has signed until 2030. Following his 2021 transfer from Metz, the Senegalese international has made 33 appearances for the club.
