The Athletic page revealed that the Red Devils have opened negotiations with the German club to promote the deal.

Manchester United is still looking for a stable goalscorer in the context of their strikers performing below expectations.

This season, Anthony Martial continued to show lackluster performances and the same thing happened with Marcus Rashford. Meanwhile, rookie Rasmus Hojlund will probably need more time to assert himself in the new environment.

Given the current situation, the Red Devils want to immediately add a striker in the January transfer window. Recently, they have targeted many targets and Timo Werner is also among them.

 Werner was contacted by Man Utd. 

According to The Athletic, Manchester United has contacted RB Leipzig to ask about the price of recruiting the German striker.

Werner first moved to the Premier League in July 2020 after joining Chelsea for a fee of around £47.5 million. He is expected to demonstrate his goal-scoring ability in the same way that has created nightmares for defenses in the Bundesliga.

However, the 27-year-old striker could not maintain that form. After 89 matches, he only scored 23 goals for Chelsea and returned to Leipzig to find a way to revive his career.

However, Man Utd still appreciates the German international’s experience. They are willing to spend money to bring Werner back to the Premier League.
