Gordon had contributed significantly to the Nuggets’ recent victory against the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day, scoring 16 points and securing 10 rebounds. However, the unfortunate dog bite incident has brought his season to an abrupt end.

The Nuggets organization announced that Gordon is “in good condition” but did not provide a specific date for his return. Coach Michael Malone emphasized the importance of allowing Gordon sufficient time to heal both physically and mentally before making a comeback.

“We’re not going to put any pressure on him. We need him to heal inside and out. Going through something like that is not something you come back from easily,” said Malone. “That’s something where you have to heal from the physical, but you also have to heal from the mental and what you just kind of went through.”

Teammate Kentavious Caldwell-Pope expressed condolences and pledged to support Gordon during his recovery. The injury comes after Gordon previously missed four games in November and early December due to a heel strain.

The Nuggets will miss Gordon’s contributions on the court but prioritize his well-being and a full recovery. The incident adds an unexpected chapter to Gordon’s season, and the team will look to adjust and move forward without his presence on the roster.
