Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem, known for his grit and no-nonsense attitude, didn’t mince words when discussing the Boston Celtics in the second episode of his podcast, “The OGs Show,” co-hosted with former teammate Mike Miller.

In a candid conversation with Heat player Bam Adebayo, Haslem expressed his disdain for the Celtics, particularly singling out former players Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. The 42-year-old, who entered the NBA in 2002, highlighted the intense rivalry between the Heat and Celtics during his era.

“It’s a different era,” Haslem declared. “In my era, we used to hate the (expletive) we’d have to go against. Y’all know how I feel when we gotta play the Celtics. I can’t stand them (expletive). I like (Jayson) Tatum and I like (Jaylen) Brown. Those old (expletives), KG and Paul (Pierce), I don’t (expletive) with.”

Haslem didn’t hold back, even threatening a confrontation with the Celtics if he were to encounter them off the court. He humorously added, “If I see y’all in the grocery store it’s on. I don’t care what aisle it’s in. It could be in 7/11 around the (expletive) cheese dip, all that (expletive) getting flipped over.”

While animosity between players and teams is not uncommon in the NBA, Haslem’s strong language and direct challenge to the Celtics, especially Garnett and Pierce, adds an extra layer of intensity to the historical Heat-Celtics rivalry. Whether this rhetoric translates into on-court actions remains to be seen, but it certainly adds fuel to the fire whenever these two teams face off.
