Dejounte Murray seen as potential target for Los Angeles Lakers

Shams Charania reports that the Lakers are interested in Murray. Murray is still under contract with the Spurs, but landing him would require multiple picks and a significant Lakers player, according to the journalist.

Multiple reports have surfaced regarding the Los Angeles Lakers’ potential trade activity in the weeks and months leading up to the trade deadline. For the organization, a new target has emerged.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Atlanta Hawks star guard Dejounte Murray is a possible target.

winger for the Chicago Bulls Zach LaVine has also recently been linked to Lakers trade rumors. To land a player of Murray or LaVine’s caliber, the Lakers would most likely have to give up multiple first-round picks and at least one notable player, such as Austin Reaves, according to Charania.

Murray is still under his old contract with the San Antonio Spurs, earning $17,714,000 this season. His new four-year, $120 million contract with the Hawks will begin next season.

The Hawks have only 12 wins in 29 games and are currently ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Lakers are 9th in the West with 17 wins and 15 losses.
