Jose Enrique, a former great player for Liverpool, is of the opinion that it was a mistake for Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag to publicly criticize Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo, which ultimately led to the two players leaving their respective teams.

“What Ten Hag said in the press is wrong, I think it killed Jadon Sancho,” Jose Enrique, who played for Liverpool for five seasons, stated in the newspaper Dailystar regarding the management capacity of coach Ten Hag at Manchester United. Enrique was referring to the statements that Ten Hag made in the press.

It was the comments made by coach Ten Hag that the Spanish player claimed were responsible for “killing” the star duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho. According to the player, the comments caused one of the players to leave the team in the previous year, while another player left during the transition period in January.

Despite the fact that Manchester United paid Borussia Dortmund 73 million pounds to acquire Jadon Sancho, the English striker has only participated in 76 minutes of competition so far this season and has not been seen on the field from August 26 till today.

Due to the fact that the English striker had the audacity to publicly “rebound” Coach Ten Hag, he was removed from all activities associated with the “Red Devils” Manchester City. Earlier, the Dutch strategist explained the rationale for Manchester United’s decision to leave Sancho out of the team for their match against Arsenal in September of this season, which ended with a score of 1-3.

Please don’t put all of the things that other people say into your head. It is not acceptable for me to tolerate someone making statements that are wholly incorrect.

Jadon Sancho responded to Ten Hag on social networks by saying, “I have been the scapegoat for a long time, and it’s unfair!”

In addition to this, Sancho firmly refused to apologize to coach Ten Hag, which resulted in him being relegated to the bench despite the fact that the post was eventually deleted. As a result, the 23-year-old striker’s career at Manchester United came dangerously close to coming to an end.

The same situation occurred between Ten Hag and Ronaldo, which led to the Portuguese star criticizing the Dutch strategist in an interview with writer Piers Morgan in November of last year, just prior to Ronaldo’s departure from Old Trafford to join a club in Saudi Arabia.

“I believe that Ten Hag’s remarks on Cristiano and Sancho were the final straw for them. Ten Hag did not do a very good job of handling the problem either. The act of criticizing them in the media and making statements such as that is not actually a positive thing. I believe that matters of this nature ought to be kept private and discussed in private, as Jose Enrique put it.

Ten Hag, the head coach of Manchester United, is in danger of losing his job because the team has lost 13 of their 26 matches across all competitions so far this season. During the Premier League season, the “Red Devils” suffered eight defeats, including four matches in a row in which they failed to score a goal. This is an unprecedented occurrence that has not occurred since the 1930-1931 season. 

As the team led by Coach Ten Hag gets ready to play Aston Villa in round 19 of the Premier League tomorrow (December 27), they are also getting ready to play “Red Devil.” When the away club is in extremely excellent form and is now in third position in the Premier League rankings after participating in 18 rounds, there is a possibility that they will suffer another defeat.
