In the pursuit of Brown on the perimeter, James inadvertently collided with him, kneeing him in the back. Both players were down on the court for a brief period, receiving attention from trainers.

Brown, displaying resilience, was substituted out of the game for Jrue Holiday and promptly headed to the locker room. The initial diagnosis labeled him as questionable to return, citing a lower back contusion. He had been enjoying one of the most impressive stretches of his career in December, boasting a shooting percentage over 52% from the field and averaging 24.3 points per game in the Celtics’ last 10 matches.
