LeBron James was absent from the game due to a sore left ankle, and Gabe Vincent also sat out with a left knee injury. Despite the Lakers pulling within 104-99 in the fourth quarter, the Timberwolves responded with a decisive 12-4 run, securing a 116-103 advantage with 2:34 left in the game.

Hachimura briefly put the Lakers ahead with a 3-pointer in the third quarter, but Edwards and Naz Reid’s timely 3-pointers allowed the Timberwolves to regain the lead. The Timberwolves held a narrow 63-59 lead at halftime, with Davis leading all scorers with 18 points.

Jaden McDaniels’ 3-pointer late in the second quarter extended Minnesota’s lead to 63-54, but the Lakers closed the half with free throws by Reaves and another 3-pointer from Taurean Prince. Prince, who spent the previous two seasons with the Timberwolves, contributed 14 points in his return to Minnesota.
