Man Utd stars have a training session to prepare for the next match against West Ham.
The upcoming match schedule is becoming dense, so coach Erik ten Hag and his team do not have much time to rest.
This week, they will have a trip that is rated “easy to go, difficult to return” to West Ham’s stadium in round 18 of the Premier League.
Notably, Man Utd suddenly promoted 36-year-old player Tom Huddlestone (hairy, tallest) to practice with the first team. The former England international, who played for Tottenham, joined Man Utd in August 2022, as coach and player of the U21 team.
The 36-year-old midfielder only plays for Man United’s U21 team as one of five over-age players allowed to play in Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy. So, it’s unclear why Huddlestone appeared in this training session. It is likely that many key players will be rested after the draw with Liverpool, so Huddlestone and some young talents will be promoted to make up the numbers.
Notably, Christian Eriksen was able to put on his shoes and take to the training field. He was seen laughing with teammates at Carrington.
Eriksen has made 15 appearances this season, scoring once – against Nottingham Forest in August – but has been out since the 1-0 win over Luton Town on November 12. Eriksen’s return is important as the upcoming match schedule is quite dense.
After a series of poor matches, the draw against Liverpool helped Man Utd’s spirit rise.
However, difficulties still lie ahead.
Marcus Rashford and his teammates must play more consistently to hope to qualify for the Champions League next season.
West Ham is not an easy opponent. Therefore, Man Utd needs to be careful.
