Brony James and USC lost again as LeBron James’ successor had just five points in a 91-75 loss to Auburn

In just his second game back after a cardiac attack, LeBron’s oldest son, Bronny James, scored just five points in the Trojans’ 91-75 rout of Auburn. Bronny James and his USC teammates have now lost three straight games.

While playing with limited minutes, the 19-year-old guard also had two rebounds and two turnovers. In his first away game for USC on Sunday, he played just 14 minutes after coming off the bench, going 0–2 from three and 1–4 from the field. In addition, he made three of his four free-throw line tries.

After having a heart episode in July, Bronny returned to the basketball court last Sunday and was unexpectedly defeated 84-79 in overtime against Long Beach State, an unranked team.

But Gonzaga, ranked No. 10, outperformed the 5-5 Trojans in the previous game.

Before making his return to the court following his summer diagnosis of a congenital heart condition, Bronny expressed his appreciation for the treatment and support he got at USC’s Galen Center during his recuperation from an on-court collapse.

In 14 minutes against Alabama, USC guard Bronny James also had two rebounds and two turnovers.

“On December 10, I would like to express my gratitude for everything,” he said to reporters. “Mayo Clinic, for all of their assistance, my parents, and my siblings for their unwavering support during this trying time in my life.” All I want to do is express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me during this.

“My coach, my teammates, and all of my other coaches as well.” They’ve supported me from the beginning, and I just wanted to express my gratitude to them.

With seven former top-100 recruits on the roster, including guards Isaiah Collier (No. 1) and Boogie Ellis (No. 38), forwards Vince Iwukchukwu (No. 25), Arrinten Page (No. 48), Kijani Wright (No. 52), and Brandon Gardner (No. 93), and two other guards, Bronny (No. 22), comes after USC’s unexpected form.

James made three of his four free throw attempts but was just 1 of 4 from the field and 0 of 2 from three.

Ellis scored 22 points against Auburn to lead all scorers. Sellers and Collier each received 13 points.

For the Tigers, Jaylin Williams scored 14 points. Broome and Cardwell each had 11 points, and Denver Jones added 12 more.

Out of the eleven Auburn players who participated, three or more were scored. The Tigers won their third straight game as seven players scored seven points or more.

On Tuesday, December 19, USC will play Alabama State away from home.
