In a recent 2-0 triumph over Sheffield United, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister was forced to exit the pitch due to injury. Following the match, manager Jurgen Klopp downplayed the severity of Mac Allister’s withdrawal. However, the player himself has now provided a worrisome update on his recovery, sharing an image on social media that shows him using crutches. Klopp addressed the condition of the No.10 at Bramall Lane, shedding light on the situation.

Klopp said: “Macca, a shame [that] early he got a cut and as long as the wound was open, we just strapped it. It was painful, but he could play. We stitched it and then it got a bit tighter there, and he couldn’t move anymore. We have to see how long that will take. I hope not too long.”

During his pre-match press conference two days later, previewing Saturday’s showdown at Crystal Palace, the Liverpool manager conceded that the situation had deteriorated. “Macca doesn’t look good, so we have to see day by day,” explained the German. “They were pretty hopeful after the game that it was not serious. It’s not that serious, but in the period of the year if you are out for five days, it’s 12 games pretty much.”

Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister has provided an update on his injury recovery via Instagram, raising concerns among fans. The Argentine midfielder uploaded images, including one showing him on crutches, hinting that the injury might be more severe than initially thought. In a message accompanying the pictures, Mac Allister stated, “A recap of last week. I’m committed to my recovery and will do my best to be back soon. Thanks for your constant support! #YNWA.”

With Liverpool scheduled to play Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League and face Manchester United on Sunday, Mac Allister’s participation in either match seems unlikely as he strives to regain full fitness.
